About Me

My Twinkie Sue Doll
Thank you Ash

I am a country girl born in the piney woods of Northeast Texas. I have a twin
sister (not identical) and one other sister 5 years younger. I moved to
a slightly larger town at the age of seven years. From that town, I graduated
from high school.

My family and I moved to Dallas, Texas upon my completion of high school
and I began my career as a secretary. It was through a co-worker I met my
first husband. I was married in December of 1956. From this marriage,
my two children were born. My son was born in Dallas, Texas in 1959
while my husband was in Army boot camp. My daughter was born in 1961,
almost two years later, at Tripler U.S. Army Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii.
We were divorced 13 years later. I was to re-marry in 1970 .

My children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are the joy of my life and live
close enough for us to visit often. I have four granddaughters and two
great-granddaughters and my first great-grandson was born in September 2010.

In 1981 my husband, Tommy, obtained a job in this area and we moved back
to my roots among my family. For11 years, I worked part-time for the
Episcopal church I attend here. I left this position to find full time work.
For five years, I worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent
of a small school district. A job I enjoyed tremendously.  Best boss I ever had and
my office was in the elementary school as they were in the process of building
the high school. I adored those first graders who were right next door to my
office. I retired the end of October 1999. I wanted to spend
some time with my Daddy in his old age but that was not to be.
He died in 2000.

My hobbies include music (I sang in the choir at church before it disbanded)
and I play the piano. I enjoy oil painting, although I haven't done it in a while.
I love to crochet and have tried my hand at knitting. Would like to try that again.
I enjoy spectator sports and am a Texas Ranger and a Dallas Cowboys fan.
I collect bells, capodomonte, snow babies and clocks. A good deal of my
time is spent at the Episcopal church here where I have been blessed to
meet some people who will remain my friends for life.

I am a big country/western fan but, I really like all types of music and have
sung all my life and have always been into music either singing with my
sister or in a choir most of my life.  Literally from the time I could talk my twin
sister and I have been singing together.  I grew up with the
'50s music craze and I still love all those wonderful songs
from that era.

Now you know who I am. A simple woman who loves to have a lot of
friends and am true to all my friends. Still friends with my best friend, Janice,
from my Jr. High and High School Years.  They called us Mutt and Jeff. She was
tall and I was short. We had some great times and still stay in touch. Love you Jan.
I still have lot of friends I graduated with in 1956 and we girls get together for a
luncheon once every three months. We have a class reunion every 5 years. So
nice to stay in touch with old friends.
